You thought He saved you for you. The 3am rescue. The year that should have ended you. The bottom you crawled out of with no one watching. You read the testimony in your own life and decided the story was about your survival. It was bigger than that. The years no one was walking with you — He was preparing you for them. The whole time.
There is a man you have not met yet. He is sitting in the same dark room you sat in. He is whispering the same prayer you whispered, the one you barely had words for. He is convinced no one understands and no one is coming. God knows his name. God knows what you went through. God put both of you in the same story for a reason — and the reason is not random. The reason is that the only person on earth who can speak the words he needs to hear is somebody who has already lived them. That is you.
Second Corinthians 1 verse 4 is one of the clearest mission statements in scripture. Paul writes it from a man who has been broken down to almost nothing — beaten, jailed, shipwrecked, hated. He says God comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others in any trouble with the comfort we have received. Not so that we can comfort ourselves. Not so that we can put it on a shelf and admire how far we have come. So that we can pour it back out. Every wound He healed in you was a map. Every breath since the rescue is the receipt of a debt that is meant to be carried back, not framed.
This is the part of recovery testimony nobody puts on the highlight reel. The mentor at the meeting who shows up Tuesday after Tuesday. The man who answers the phone at 3am because he remembers what 3am felt like. The dad who tells his teenage son the version of the story he never got to hear from his own father. The friend who walks down the same alley with somebody three years behind him and lets him talk and lets him cry and does not flinch at any of it because none of it is new. That is what the lighthouse looks like. It does not stand in the harbor and admire its own light. It stays awake.
NVUS Hearts is built for the men who carry the weight forward instead of setting it down. The I AM LIVING PROOF OF GOD'S GRACE hoodie is the back patch of the survivor — Ephesians 2 verse 8, by grace through faith, written in graffiti so the world cannot mistake it for decoration. Pair it with the I AM tee carrying John 14 verse 6 and you are wearing the testimony before you have to speak it. A portion of every order funds addiction recovery and rebuilds lives. Wear it. Walk with somebody. Go back for them. You are somebody is lighthouse now.
